It's cool, were on the same page really.

How did you like trying to find anything in that book?

And the digital format sucks, a person needs to be able to zoom in at a variable percentage so
you not constantly dragging the page back & forth or up & down.

one of the things that i have done in the past is, lowered the floor pan in the seat area with 1 inch or 1 /12  box tubing.      this also helps to see the tree , when you have a halo bar .    Grin   joe

I am going to send a few of these pictures to one of the tracks management. He has helped me out before with my questions and I will see how they feel about my setup. If I need to move my seat forward to be in front of the hoop then I am gonna go ahead and order a halo bar and front struts. There is NO WAY Im sitting underneath a glass T-top with nothing to protect my head/neck. If the track feels this is best then Like you said, My63 the car is apart so might as well do it now if its needed. I will post back the results from what he says.

I think Summit actually sells a seat cover for this seat for around $40. Im not worried about that at this point, when I went through tech last month they didnt seem to care what my seat was made of or if it had padding. I sent 5 detailed pictures of my seat position and my cross brace to one of the tracks managers. He will probably get back with me this week and let me know if Im good to go. I will say, I will be very surprised if they fail this roll bar. If it does fail its because of a technicality in the rule book and they dont seem to be too caught up in splitting hairs. Common sense says she's good to go!

Summit or Jegs!!
Its real tempting to get one when I look at them. This plastic seat aint cutting it in the comfy department.

This rule book is all screwed up............It doesn't list allot of things in the ET class regs, it seems to focus only on minimum items that you can or can't use from the faster ET sec. Example in none of the Summit sportsman regs does it mention a seat, does that mean you can pass tech without one? Of course not!

The catch all is in every sec and at the beginning of the ET sec. " In addition to the following rules, also see summit sportsman and general rules"

Go to pg 109 read general regulation for upholsery/seats.

Another example under exhibition vehicles. "seat must be aluminum or fiberglass, upholstery: optional.

Disclaimer: This is how I interpret the book and could be completely wrong.   Undecided

The book has confused me too many times. I am trying to get in contact with one of the tracks managers so I can ask him directly about these issues.

I believe the seat upholstery rule pertains to Stock Super Stock mainly, but I could be wrong.

Well still no word from the track as to my roll bar concerns. I went ahead and ordered a halo bar and 2 front strut tubes so I can turn this into a full 10 point cage. Im not going to take any chances with my safety. I'm just not comfortable running 6s 1/8th mile with just a roll bar, especially in a T-top car.
