im looking to upgrade my 9in. in my car and maybe shed a couple pounds buy getting an alum. 3rd member.
limited street/strip use fox body 2600lbs ,600hp 408,c4 with a brake and a 5000stall.
just wondered if theres any problems with durability?

World 8.2 371 comming together now. Canfield 195's, Vic jr, with a super vic on the side... Solid Roller, Demon carb, all this connected to an AOD sitting in a 56 F100, mustang II front, 4 link rear.

bought the yukon alum. thru bolt for a fair price,said its good to 1200hp+.

   That is better suited than a standard aluminum strange or an "offshore" cheapie. use a billet pinion support. The Ford racing unit is a bit weak (cast aluminum that is) for your application.

i was going to buy the speedway forged alum. daytona unit, do you think that one is ok being forged and not billet?
bought a gforce detroit locker and a lightened/polished 4.40 gearset
trying to do it on the cheap but this stuff is adding up quickly lol!

       That's fine. It's just the casting you want to stay away from "in your case". Lesser tq /hp/car weight can use the cast aluminum piece ( like my car) without a problem. Yours just has too much power for the casting. TRhe forged part will not fail. Good job!

   etracer is right , the Strange Ultra case is a serious cut above their std aluminum case ( strength wise). Good to hear from you Jeff!
