Jim called me today, they recieved the heads and intake. Went over a few more things on my intentions for this combo.
Going to be one bad Mofo..

I'm on vacation all this next week. I'm going to spend time over at the shop for most of it.
I want the rest of the 347 out. And I would like to get the bare Dart block in place mocked up and weld up my Motor Plates.
Also need to remove the old Mallory fuel pump for a new larger Magnafuel 500.

Once the top end is back completed, and I get some of this 347 stuff sold off.
I'll get the rotating assembly together, and get the block machined for assembly.

Who's going to do the cam on this one?

Not 100% sure yet. I would like to get Mark at Bullet to come up with something.
But Jim Kuntz brought it up as well.
I'm thinking about giving Jim the job..

+1 for Jim on the cam. He nailed it on my setup. I'm sure it will make 800+ if you leave it up to him. Bottom 9's N/A for sure!

I'm probably going to be leaving some power on the table.
I will run the converter the way it is now, which should net my best N/A ET.
But I think it will be too loose for the Hose, so when I tighten it up for the spray it will probably fall off a bit.

Also I'm not going Max Effort on the cam, I want it to be able to do a 30 Mile cruise in True Street events as well.
So I may be giving up a tad there as well.

It will be an animal for sure, on a baby shot with the converter right it could dip into the 8's I hope.

My Ultimate goal, after some seat time, and extra safety equipment, is 8.50's.
I don't care do go beyond that, nor does my wallet..lol

Finished getting the 347 out today. The engine bay is empty, for now...
Tomorrow i'll be working on cleaning up a few things in the engine bay. Also i'm altering the fuel system a bit.
i'm removing the return fuel line, i'll be dead heading my Magnafuel 500 at the front. With a bypass at the rear of the car.

Then i'm going to start fitting up the dart block with my new SKRC motor plates. And work on getting them welded into place, I hope to have that done this week. Once that's completed, I'll be waiting for my cylinder heads to return from Jim.

Also in the mean time i'm trying my butt off to sell all this 347 stuff, so I can gain some money back.
If I get a few major things sold like my TW 205's etc. I'll have the Dart block off for machining VERY soon.

Progress, keep the ball moving

Well yesterday I got some of the fuel system removed.
I also spent like 4 hours drilling all the tack welds that hold the factory sway-bar mounts on the inner frame rails.
What a PITA getting those off. They're right in the way of the front Motor Plate.

Tomorrow I plan to get the Dart block out, and set it down into the engine bay with the motor-plates for a trial fit.
If everything goes smooth I may be able to get them tack welded into place, well see.
Once that's done, i'm going to cut the side mounts off the k-member.

Cant you bolt the motor plates in? I wanna say I have seen some before. They weld in aluminum or steel plates to the frame (4X6) and drill bolt holes if I remember correctly.

Yep they're exactly as you described. The only thing is, to get the plates aligned correctly. You need to have them bolted to the block first, and get the block in place where you want it. Then weld the mounts to the frame rails in the correct place.
Once that's done, you can unbolt the steel mounts from the motor plates and lift the engine out/ in with the motor plates still attached.
Then the original side mounts are getting Deep 6'd. This will make room for those 2 1/8" x 4" headers at the sides of the engine.
Most guys say it's easier to intall the engine, and more room on the plates to mount stuff, Better ring seal.

I've bent a set of solid mounts, that's one of my main reasons for getting rid of them for plates.

I'll post pictures when I get something done..lol
